The RDMO instance previously operated at HHU (rdmo.hhu.de) has being taken offline. As a sustainable and future-proof alternative, we refer you to the services offered by the National Forschungsdateninfrastruktur (NFDI).

DMP4NFDI
With DMP4NFDI, the NFDI provides a central core service for the creation and management of data management plans (DMPs). The service is also based on RDMO and is continuously being developed. The aim is to offer researchers in Germany a standardised, long-term, and subject-specific infrastructure for research data management.
DMP4NFDI provides a centrally operated, multi-tenant RDMO instance in which various NFDI consortia can each run their own RDMO clients (tenants). These clients contain subject-specific or consortium-specific DMP templates, login mechanisms, layouts and user rights, but are technically part of a shared infrastructure.
The service is aimed at:
- Researchers and staff at universities and non-university research institutions,
- as well as, depending on the client, external partners or project participants.
Access to the individual RDMO clients can be granted via institutional authentication (e.g. NFDI-AAI/Unity) or via self-registration, depending on the configuration of the respective client.
Current status
The service is still under development. Several NFDI consortia are already connected and operational, whilst others are in the process of technical and content-related preparation. The service will be expanded gradually.
These instances are already live and available for use by researchers within the relevant academic community:
- RDMO NFDI4ING
For engineering; featuring DMP templates tailored to the discipline and guidance on typical data types, standards and repositories. - RDMO FAIRagro
For agricultural, food and environmental research; with a focus on FAIR principles, domain-specific metadata standards and agricultural research infrastructures. - RDMO NFDI4Chem
For chemistry; supports, amongst other things, the handling of experimental data, substance data, spectra, and chemistry-specific repositories and ontologies. - RDMO NFDI4Culture
For the humanities, cultural studies and social sciences; with particular attention to heterogeneous data types, legal issues (e.g. copyright) and sustainable re-use. - RDMO MaRDI4NFDI
For mathematics; specifically addresses mathematical research topics, software, reproducibility and long-term availability.
The following NFDI consortia are currently working on their own RDMO clients or piloting clients as part of incubator projects:
- NFDI4Energy
Test environment in place; production system planned for launch by the end of 2025. - NFDI4Microbiota
Pilot client currently being developed with NFDI-AAI login. - NFDI-MatWerk
Testing a proprietary client for internal purposes. - NFDI4BIOIMAGE
Development of an RDMO client for integration into existing workflows. - NFDI4Earth
Test environment and catalogue development, later productive RDMO client. - NFDI4Health
Development of a community-specific template and its integration into a client. - Further consortia and projects being developed as part of the Incubator Calls may follow shortly: DMP4NFDI Incubator Projects.
Calls for proposals are held regularly to onboard new consortia:
