Data management plans

A data management plan systematically describes how your research data will be handled. You should answer the following questions before you start your project:

  • What data will you collect and how?
  • Who owns the copyrights?
  • What types of copyrights or rights of use play a role?
  • Who decides on the access options? What reading and management rights should be granted?
  • How will processing of the data be documented?
  • Which metadata will be collected and where will it be stored?
  • How is data protection regulated?
  • Where will the data be published following project completion?
  • How is the data stored and made reusable?
